Word by Word
Krishna reveals the unmistakable marks of one who has realized the Eternal—they stand free from vanity and delusion, untouched by the poisonous attachments that bind lesser souls. Rooted perpetually in Self-knowledge, they have burned away all hunger for sensory pleasure, and the pairs of opposites—joy and sorrow, gain and loss—no longer sway them.
This is not a distant heaven but the living reality available to any sincere seeker who releases the false self and anchors in eternal consciousness. In our modern chaos of comparison and craving, this verse invites us to ask: What would it feel like to let go of one opinion about ourselves and rest, even for a moment, in the unchanging witness within?
