Chapter 15 · Verse 10 · Purushottama Yoga
Bhagavad Gita 15.10
Sanskrit
उत्क्रामन्तं स्थितं वापि भुञ्जानं वा गुणान्वितम्।विमूढा नानुपश्यन्ति पश्यन्ति ज्ञानचक्षुषः।।15.10।।
Transliteration
utkrāmantaṁ sthitaṁ vāpi bhuñjānaṁ vā guṇānvitam vimūḍhā nānupaśhyanti paśhyanti jñāna-chakṣhuṣhaḥ
Word by Word
The Lord reveals a profound truth: the soul's journey through birth, life, and death—its dance with the three gunas—remains invisible to those clouded by ignorance, yet blazes like sunlight to the eyes of wisdom. The ignorant see only the body's movements and experiences, missing the eternal witness within; the wise perceive the unchanging Self observing all transformations without attachment.
In our modern scramble, we mistake our moods, our roles, our circumstances for our identity—when the eye of knowledge would show us the untouched awareness that simply watches it all.
