punaḥ again
saumya-vapuḥ the gentle (two-armed) form
mahā-ātmā the compassionate
Simplified Perspective

After revealing the infinite cosmic form that shattered Arjun's limited perception, Krishna returns to his two-armed human form—the form of tenderness and relationship. This is the supreme compassion: the Divine does not insist we remain in awe, but descends into gentleness so we can receive wisdom with a steady heart.

When your spiritual awakening overwhelms you, know that grace always offers you a resting place in the familiar, the intimate, the human.
