Chapter 11 · Verse 37 · Vishwaroopa Darshana Yoga
Bhagavad Gita 11.37
Sanskrit
कस्माच्च ते न नमेरन्महात्मन् गरीयसे ब्रह्मणोऽप्यादिकर्त्रे। अनन्त देवेश जगन्निवास त्वमक्षरं सदसत्तत्परं यत्।।11.37।।
Transliteration
kasmāch cha te na nameran mahātman garīyase brahmaṇo ’py ādi-kartre ananta deveśha jagan-nivāsa tvam akṣharaṁ sad-asat tat paraṁ yat
Word by Word
Arjuna stands trembling before the Cosmic Form, and Krishna's question cuts through his awe: why would any being, any god, even Brahma himself, not bow to you? You are the imperishable ground of all existence—the consciousness that holds both the manifest and unmanifest, the eternal source beyond all becoming.
This is not flattery; it is the simple recognition of what already is. When we truly glimpse the sacred dimension of reality that flows through all things, reverence becomes our natural response, and that reverence becomes the doorway to liberation.
