Transliteration

saubhadro draupadeyāśhcha sarva eva mahā-rathāḥ

Word by Word

saubhadraḥ the son of Subhadra
draupadeyāḥ the sons of Draupadi
cha and
sarve all
eva indeed
mahā-rathāḥ warriors who could single handedly match the strength of ten thousand ordinary warriors
Simplified Perspective

Sri Krishna's enumeration of the Pandava warriors reveals a profound truth: the battlefield of Kurukshetra is populated not by ordinary soldiers, but by mahārathās—warriors of supreme skill and valor, each a complete force unto themselves. Yet this listing serves a deeper purpose in Vedantic wisdom: it strips away Arjuna's delusion that external circumstances (the strength of allies or enemies) determine his dharmic action.

In our modern lives, we too stand surrounded by capable beings and resources, yet our spiritual duty remains unchanged—to act with integrity regardless of whether we feel supported or abandoned.
