आचार्याः पितरः पुत्रास्तथैव च पितामहाः। मातुलाः श्चशुराः पौत्राः श्यालाः सम्बन्धिनस्तथा।।1.34।।
Transliteration
āchāryāḥ pitaraḥ putrās tathaiva cha pitāmahāḥ mātulāḥ śhvaśhurāḥ pautrāḥ śhyālāḥ sambandhinas tathā
In plain words
You are bound to people who wound you, disappoint you, and pull you in directions you never chose. You cannot unknow them or unlove them, and that feels like a trap. The lesson for you: the people you are tied to—by blood, by marriage, by duty—are not actually separate from the divine consciousness that moves through you too. When you see them that way, your obligation transforms. You stop trying to control them or save them, and you become free to serve what is real in them without being destroyed by what is broken.

आचार्य, पिता, पुत्र, दादा, मामा, ससुर, पोता और रिश्तेदार - ये सभी मेरे युद्ध के मैदान में खड़े हैं। मुझे इन सभी प्रिय जनों को मारना पड़ेगा, जो मेरे लिए बहुत दुःख और संकट का कारण बन रहा है।

In this verse, Arjuna names the web of relationships that bind him—teachers, fathers, grandfathers, uncles, in-laws, kinsmen—each a thread in the fabric of his dharmic world. The Gita does not deny these bonds; rather, it asks us to see through them to the eternal Self that witnesses all relationships without being possessed by them.
When we recognize that the same divine consciousness dwells equally in every being we name, attachment transforms into sacred service, and the weight of relationship becomes a doorway to liberation.
