Transliteration

moghāśhā mogha-karmāṇo mogha-jñānā vichetasaḥ rākṣhasīm āsurīṁ chaiva prakṛitiṁ mohinīṁ śhritāḥ

Word by Word

mogha-āśhāḥ of vain hopes
mogha-karmāṇaḥ of vain actions
mogha-jñānāḥ of baffled knowledge
vichetasaḥ deluded
rākṣhasīm demoniac
āsurīm atheistic
cha and
eva certainly
prakṛitim material energy
mohinīm bewildered
śhritāḥ take shelter
Simplified Perspective

Krishna reveals here the tragic fate of those who abandon the light of wisdom and surrender to delusion—their hopes crumble, their actions bear no fruit, and their knowledge becomes a prison of confusion. They take shelter in the demoniac and atheistic energies, the bewildering forces of nature that promise power but deliver only bondage.

This is not condemnation but compassion: Krishna shows us the cost of turning away from truth so we might recognize and turn back toward it. When you feel your efforts bearing no fruit and your understanding clouded, pause and ask: have I abandoned connection to something greater than my own ambition?
