Chapter 8 · Verse 23 · Akshara Brahma Yoga
Bhagavad Gita 8.23
Sanskrit
यत्र काले त्वनावृत्तिमावृत्तिं चैव योगिनः। प्रयाता यान्ति तं कालं वक्ष्यामि भरतर्षभ।।8.23।।
Transliteration
yatra kāle tvanāvṛittim āvṛittiṁ chaiva yoginaḥ prayātā yānti taṁ kālaṁ vakṣhyāmi bharatarṣhabha
Word by Word
Sri Krishna is about to reveal the profound mystery of time itself—those sacred moments when the yogi's departure from this world leads either to eternal return or final liberation. This is not mere chronology but the measurement of consciousness: when you leave your body in a state of remembrance of the Divine, you do not return; when you leave in delusion, the wheel turns again.
For the modern seeker walking between worlds, this teaches us that every moment is a departure point—what we are conscious of now determines whether we move toward freedom or circle again in illusion.
