Chapter 8 · Verse 22 · Akshara Brahma Yoga
Bhagavad Gita 8.22
Sanskrit
पुरुषः स परः पार्थ भक्त्या लभ्यस्त्वनन्यया। यस्यान्तःस्थानि भूतानि येन सर्वमिदं ततम्।।8.22।।
Transliteration
puruṣhaḥ sa paraḥ pārtha bhaktyā labhyas tvananyayā yasyāntaḥ-sthāni bhūtāni yena sarvam idaṁ tatam
Word by Word
The Supreme Personality dwells within all beings as their innermost essence, yet remains utterly transcendent—pervading everything while belonging to nothing. This paradox dissolves only through devotion that abandons every other refuge and turns the heart entirely toward Him.
When your love becomes singular, undivided, and unconditional, the infinite becomes knowable not as distant doctrine but as the living presence already intimate within you. This teaches us that in our spiritual life, singular-hearted devotion cuts through all confusion and reveals what endless philosophical inquiry cannot.
