Chapter 7 · Verse 9 · Gyaan Vigyana Yoga
Bhagavad Gita 7.9
Sanskrit
पुण्यो गन्धः पृथिव्यां च तेजश्चास्मि विभावसौ। जीवनं सर्वभूतेषु तपश्चास्मि तपस्विषु।।7.9।।
Transliteration
puṇyo gandhaḥ pṛithivyāṁ cha tejaśh chāsmi vibhāvasau jīvanaṁ sarva-bhūteṣhu tapaśh chāsmi tapasviṣhu
Word by Word
Krishna reveals himself as the fragrant essence of earth, the radiance in fire, the very life-force animating all beings, and the austerity within ascetics—showing that the Divine is not distant but woven into the fabric of existence itself. This is not metaphor but direct truth: the sacred permeates the material world, waiting to be recognized.
When you smell the earth after rain, witness a flame's glow, feel your own breath sustaining you, or witness someone's disciplined practice, you are meeting God directly.
