Chapter 6 · Verse 7 · Dhyana Yoga
Bhagavad Gita 6.7
Sanskrit
जितात्मनः प्रशान्तस्य परमात्मा समाहितः। शीतोष्णसुखदुःखेषु तथा मानापमानयोः।।6.7।।
Transliteration
jitātmanaḥ praśhāntasya paramātmā samāhitaḥ śhītoṣhṇa-sukha-duḥkheṣhu tathā mānāpamānayoḥ
Word by Word
The Self that has mastered itself becomes a vessel for the Divine. When your mind is conquered through meditation and equanimity, the Supreme Self dwells within you steadfast and complete.
This is not achievement through force, but the natural flowering of a consciousness no longer divided by the pairs of opposites—cold and heat, praise and blame, loss and gain become equal teachers on the path. For us today, this means that every difficulty you face without reactivity, every moment you choose inner peace over external validation, you are literally inviting the presence of the Divine into your being.
