Bhagavad Gita 5.28
Sanskrit
यतेन्द्रियमनोबुद्धिर्मुनिर्मोक्षपरायणः। विगतेच्छाभयक्रोधो यः सदा मुक्त एव सः।।5.28।।
Transliteration

Word by Word
This verse illuminates the paradox that liberation is not a distant prize to be seized, but the natural state of one who has mastered the fortress of body and mind. When the senses are reined in, the mind becomes steady, and intelligence aligns with truth, the seeker discovers they were never truly bound—only lost in the illusion of desire, fear, and anger.
In our modern life, this means that freedom blooms not through acquiring more experiences, but through releasing the grip of cravings, anxieties, and reactive emotions that fragment our consciousness.
