Simplified Perspective

Krishna speaks here with the urgency of a physician diagnosing a disease of the spirit. Those who reject the path of righteous action out of jealousy or cynicism—who refuse to honor the dharma He offers—are not merely making a choice; they are actively destroying their own capacity for wisdom and discernment.

This is not punishment from outside, but the natural consequence of turning away from truth: the mind that resists dharma becomes clouded, loses its moorings, and drifts into confusion. When we reject the guidance of wisdom—whether from our deepest knowing, our spiritual teachers, or the voice of our conscience—we are literally choosing blindness over light.
