Simplified Perspective

When the mind is not yoked to wisdom—when we live scattered, reactive, driven by impulse rather than insight—the intellect loses its clarity and contemplation becomes impossible. The Vedantic truth here is severe and merciful: peace cannot visit the unsteady heart, and where there is no peace, how can joy arise?

In our hurried modern lives, this verse cuts to the chase: the quality of your inner unity determines the quality of your entire existence.
