Chapter 2 · Verse 3 · Sankhya Yoga
Bhagavad Gita 2.3
Sanskrit
क्लैब्यं मा स्म गमः पार्थ नैतत्त्वय्युपपद्यते। क्षुद्रं हृदयदौर्बल्यं त्यक्त्वोत्तिष्ठ परन्तप।।2.3।।
Transliteration
klaibyaṁ mā sma gamaḥ pārtha naitat tvayyupapadyate kṣhudraṁ hṛidaya-daurbalyaṁ tyaktvottiṣhṭha parantapa
In plain words
When you're paralyzed—when you don't know what you're meant to do, when fear has you frozen, when you feel small and ashamed of your own hesitation—you're believing a lie about yourself. Krishna says: that smallness isn't who you are; it's just the fog your mind has created, and you can walk through it. Stand up. Not through force or willpower alone, but by remembering: there is something in you that knows how to move, how to live, how to matter.
Word by Word
Krishna's words pierce through Arjuna's paralysis with surgical precision—he is not scolding weakness, but awakening the warrior's true nature that lies dormant beneath fear. In the Vedantic vision, your essential Self is untouched by circumstance; what appears as weakness is only the mind's delusion, a forgetting of who you truly are.
When you release the grip of self-doubt and stand in your authentic power, you align with the dharma you were born to fulfill. Today, this teaching invites you to examine where you contract from your own potential—not through force, but through clear seeing.
