Chapter 18 · Verse 33 · Moksha Sanyaas Yoga
Bhagavad Gita 18.33
Sanskrit
धृत्या यया धारयते मनःप्राणेन्द्रियक्रियाः।योगेनाव्यभिचारिण्या धृतिः सा पार्थ सात्त्विकी।।18.33।।
Transliteration
dhṛityā yayā dhārayate manaḥ-prāṇendriya-kriyāḥ yogenāvyabhichāriṇyā dhṛitiḥ sā pārtha sāttvikī
Word by Word
The Sattvic determination Krishna describes here is not force of will, but the gentle, unshakeable steadiness that comes from aligning your mind, breath, and senses with your deepest purpose. This is the dharma-holder's resolve—not rigid, but supple as a tree that bends in wind yet remains rooted.
When your determination flows through yoga, through union with something greater than ego, you sustain not just your actions but your very consciousness in truth. For us today, this means building inner disciplines—meditation, ethical living, mindful work—that don't exhaust the spirit but nourish it, creating the quiet strength to live authentically amid chaos.
