तस्मात्प्रणम्य प्रणिधाय कायं प्रसादये त्वामहमीशमीड्यम्। पितेव पुत्रस्य सखेव सख्युः प्रियः प्रियायार्हसि देव सोढुम्।।11.44।।
Transliteration
tasmāt praṇamya praṇidhāya kāyaṁ prasādaye tvām aham īśham īḍyam piteva putrasya sakheva sakhyuḥ priyaḥ priyāyārhasi deva soḍhum
Word by Word
Arjuna, trembling before the cosmic form, now offers the ultimate prayer: a complete prostration of body and ego, asking Krishna to receive him as a father receives a son, as a friend welcomes a friend, as a beloved accepts their lover's devotion. This is the turning point where fear transforms into intimacy—where the unbearable vastness of the Divine becomes bearable through the tender language of relationship.
In our own spiritual awakening, this verse teaches us that grace is not won through perfection but through vulnerable, honest surrender, speaking to God in the language of our deepest human bonds.
