यथा प्रदीप्तं ज्वलनं पतङ्गा विशन्ति नाशाय समृद्धवेगाः। तथैव नाशाय विशन्ति लोका स्तवापि वक्त्राणि समृद्धवेगाः।।11.29।।

Transliteration

yathā pradīptaṁ jvalanaṁ pataṅgā viśhanti nāśhāya samṛiddha-vegāḥ tathaiva nāśhāya viśhanti lokās tavāpi vaktrāṇi samṛiddha-vegāḥ

Simplified Perspective

The Lord reveals the cosmic truth: as moths rush toward the blazing fire to meet their doom, so too do all beings hurl themselves into His divine mouths with the same urgency—not because they understand the consequence, but because the magnetism of desire is irresistible. This is not cruelty but the law of karma made visible: the universe metabolizes every action, every ambition, every unexamined rushing-about.

When you see how swiftly and mindlessly people pursue hollow victories, empty gains, and destructive addictions, remember this verse—and ask yourself: toward what fire are you running?
