Word by Word

śhrī-bhagavān uvācha the Blessed Lord said
bhūyaḥ again
eva verily
mahā-bāho mighty armed one
śhṛiṇu hear
me my
paramam divine
vachaḥ teachings
yat which
te to you
aham I
prīyamāṇāya you are my beloved confidant
vakṣhyāmi say
hita-kāmyayā for desiring your welfare
Simplified Perspective

Krishna's opening to the Vibhooti Yoga is an act of supreme grace—He turns toward Arjuna not as a student seeking knowledge, but as a beloved soul ready to receive the deepest mysteries of divine manifestation. This is intimacy disguised as instruction: the Lord speaks only to those whose hearts have become worthy vessels through surrender and sincere questioning.

In our modern spiritual search, we too must cultivate this inner readiness—not through intellectual accumulation, but through genuine longing and the willingness to be transformed by what we hear.
