यावदेतान्निरीक्षेऽहं योद्धुकामानवस्थितान्। कैर्मया सह योद्धव्यमस्मिन्रणसमुद्यमे।।1.22।।
Transliteration
yāvadetān nirīkṣhe ’haṁ yoddhu-kāmān avasthitān kairmayā saha yoddhavyam asmin raṇa-samudyame
हिंदी अर्थ
जब तक मैं इन युद्ध के लिए तैयार योद्धाओं को देखता हूँ, तब तक मुझे जानना चाहिए कि इस युद्ध में मुझे किन-किन के साथ लड़ना है।

Arjuna stands at the threshold of his dharma, surveying the assembled forces with growing dread—yet this moment of looking, of truly seeing, is itself the gateway to wisdom. In Vedanta, we understand that the sense of separation—'I must fight against them'—arises only when consciousness identifies with the limited body-mind.

For the modern seeker paralyzed by life's conflicts, this verse teaches that before acting, we must see clearly—not with eyes of fear and judgment, but with the steady gaze of one who recognizes the divine presence in all beings, even those we must oppose.
