Simplified Perspective

The senses are not enemies to be destroyed, but sacred instruments to be offered in the fire of wisdom. Some seekers practice sense-restraint itself as a sacrifice, burning the impulse to grasp at pleasure; others sacrifice the objects of desire in the flames of discrimination, realizing their emptiness.

Both paths lead to the same altar—a mind that has stopped bargaining with the world and returned to its source. When you catch yourself reaching for distraction today, pause and ask: am I feeding this habit, or offering it to something greater?
