Chapter 4 · Verse 24 · Jnana Karma Sanyasa Yoga
Bhagavad Gita 4.24
Sanskrit
ब्रह्मार्पणं ब्रह्महविर्ब्रह्माग्नौ ब्रह्मणा हुतम्। ब्रह्मैव तेन गन्तव्यं ब्रह्मकर्मसमाधिना।।4.24।।
Transliteration
brahmārpaṇaṁ brahma havir brahmāgnau brahmaṇā hutam brahmaiva tena gantavyaṁ brahma-karma-samādhinā
Word by Word
This verse reveals the ultimate unity of consciousness—when every element of your being becomes an instrument of the Divine, there is no separation between the one who offers, the offering itself, and the altar. The Vedas teach that Brahman alone exists as both subject and object; when your actions flow from this recognition, you dissolve into that very ground of being.
In modern life, this means offering your work, your relationships, your struggles not as transactions but as sacred acts of returning yourself to the source from which you came.
