Simplified Perspective

Krishna reveals the supreme teaching: even the obligatory duties of life must be performed, but stripped of ego's demand for results and the heart's clinging to outcomes. This is not renunciation of action itself, but a radical freedom from the tyranny of desire—the sanyassin acts without the weight of the world upon their shoulders.

When you perform your dharma with complete detachment from success and failure, you transcend the cycle of karma while remaining fully engaged in life's responsibilities. This is how the modern seeker can honor their duties—as a parent, professional, or citizen—without the suffocation of anxiety about whether things turn out as imagined.
