Word by Word

jñānam knowledge
jñeyam the object of knowledge
parijñātā the knower
tri-vidhā three factors
karma-chodanā factors that induce action
karaṇam the instrumens of action
karma the act
kartā the doer
iti thus
tri-vidhaḥ threefold
karma-saṅgrahaḥ constituents of action
Simplified Perspective

Krishna reveals the sacred anatomy of action itself—that knowledge, the known, and the knower form one unified triad, just as the instrument, the action, and the actor are inseparable in the dance of karma. This threefold understanding dissolves the illusion that you are the sole doer, liberating you from the burden of egoic ownership.

When you see action as a natural unfolding rather than a personal conquest, your daily work—whether in career, family, or service—transforms from exhausting striving into a graceful expression of dharma.
