Word by Word

mayi on me

mayi on me
buddhim intellect
niveśhaya surrender
nivasiṣhyasi you shall always live
mayi in me
eva alone
ataḥ ūrdhvam thereafter
na not
sanśhayaḥ doubt
Simplified Perspective

Krishna offers the essence of devotional surrender: fix your mind on Me alone, place your intellect in My hands, and dwell continuously in My presence. This is not escapism but the highest form of mental discipline—when the wavering mind anchors itself in the Divine, all fragmentation ceases and you discover unshakeable peace.

For those of us pulled in countless directions by modern life, this verse invites a radical simplicity: choose one center of devotion, return to it again and again, and watch how clarity replaces confusion.
